Planning

Planning applications are normally discussed at the regular Town Council meeting. If the Planning Authority requires a response prior to the next Town Council meeting, the applications are circulated to the Councillors for individual comments.

Whilst New Mills Town Council considers and comments on all applications affecting the Parish, the controlling authority is High Peak Borough Council (HPBC), who can choose to take on board or ignore our comments.

Some planning applications will be decided on by the Peak District National Park planning authority where the property/land lies within its boundary.
