Lease renewal between New Mills Town Council
and New Mills Allotment & Gardening Society.
New Mills Town Council owns two allotment sites totalling 54 plots situated in Ollersett Avenue and Hague Bar which have been managed by New Mills Allotment and Gardening Society since their opening. The Council recognises the benefit of working with the society and values this key relationship which provides membership to any local resident with an interest in gardening, plus encouraging inexperienced gardeners to join to develop their skills. The Society is also responsible for the allocation of plots.
As an acknowledgement of this and knowing the work of the Society is done on a voluntary basis by their members the Town Council is proposing to enter into a new lease, developed through engagement with the Society, for 25 years which includes a small increase to the Society's annual charges.
